The capital of Brazil is Brasilia, although many people choose to fly to the other major cities of Sao Paulo, and Rio de Janeiro. From London, you can fly direct to Sao Paulo and Rio de Janeiro which takes just over twelve hours. These services are offered daily. It is also possible to fly to Natal, Recife and Salvador, which takes approximately nine hours. From other European countries, there are a number of scheduled flights to Brazil also on a daily basis.
You will need a valid passport with at least six months left on it to enter Brazil. For nationals of any of the EU countries, no visa is required for a stay of up to 90 days. For nationals of America, Canada, Australia and Japan however, a tourist visa is required to enter Brazil. Brazil has a ‘reciprocal visa policy’, meaning that it requires a tourist visa for any countries that require a visa from them.
